Why We Created It
A Taste of Home was born from a simple idea: home is more than a place. It's a feeling, a flavor, a memory you carry. We wanted to create a space where makers, artists, and small business owners could share a piece of where they come from and celebrate what makes our cultures and communities unique.
But we also saw a gap. In October 2024, we kick-started our Taste of Home movement in collaboration with the passionate and talented team at Melody Market, based in Philly. What started as a pop-up quickly grew into something more, a space where people could connect through culture, community, and creativity.
Many markets don’t reflect the diversity of the cities they’re in. Tables are missing the flavors we grew up with. The crafts don’t always tell our stories. And for so many vendors, especially first-timers, shy girlies, or folks just starting out, it can feel overwhelming and out of reach.
Vendor fees have climbed to $150–$400 per day at some markets. We’ve even seen fees hit $500 or more for premium spaces. For small businesses, that often means leaving without breaking even. And when that happens over and over, people stop showing up, even when their work deserves to be seen.
We wanted something different. A space where you don’t have to prove your worth. Just bring what feels like home and connect with people who get it.
A Taste of Home is that space. Community-focused. Culture-rich. Vendor-friendly. Whether you’re a first-time vendor or a seasoned creative, this is for you.
